Perhaps ‘Botoxica’ was only ever an assumed trade-name? She took over an old acid factory to make her Spa; perhaps ‘M B’ was on the factory gate before she moved in and she assumed a name to fit the letters as part of her cover?

That said, it’d make sense regardless that if she’s hiding her identity behind a mask, she’d also hide it behind a new name.

And it’d certainly explain her grudge against Liri in particular.

Yeah, her mask is hiding horrible scars, like the one she got from Sage here:

And then she was also the last one with posession of one of those arrows Liri created that don’t seem to vanish after they’ve been used, here:

And now she’s wearing a gallon of perfume, to cover up her scent, so that the investigator who isn’t motivated to find Liri guilty won’t be able to tell she was at the scene of the crime.
Crunch doesn’t even need to be in on things, she just wants Liri out of the way.

It’s totally an obvious frame-up job, but done in a way that prevents revealing quite well. One investigator is a stickler for evidence and proof, and the other is motivated to manufacture (if needed) evidence that their chosen target is guilty.

Okay, this is getting too obvious. When we first met Aranea Vistabel back in May, I suggested she might be related to Liri, but there are several things that need to be considered. One, is that hair style: it is identical to Botoxica’s hair (https://www.saffroncomic.com/comic/p0036/). Two, the web motif of her outfit. And we keep coming back to the arrow. Maybe the author didn’t like her original name and decided on a reboot.

Last thing, Vistabel is a tradename for Botox, made for, well, reducing fine lines and presenting a more youthful appearance.
