OMG, I just found casu marzu. It’s sheep’s milk cheese with _live insect larvae_ in the cheese! That whole dish had to be, by my lights, the most amazingly disgusting meal I’d ever heard of. Even the idea of fish eggs (caviar) sounds like bait to me.
